Thank you again for all the support you’ve given for the content I’ve been producing on MTG Arena Zone over the past few months! It was honestly a blast to make it and you can always go back and read them on my profile here. Rating colors without playing with them is incredibly hard, so hopefully I’m somewhat right here! Red has good common removal and great uncommons, but the common creatures were unfortunately way too anemic for me to rate the color any higher. This deluxe hardcover game art book has a fantastic collection of artwork and contains pictures of the.

The color is also a little all over the place in what it’s trying to accomplish. Tactics Ogre Wheel of Fortune (Unmei no Wa) Art Works. White doesn’t have great removal spell since I don’t see cards like Sigarda's Imprisonment performing well with all the Exploit in the format. Wow, at the moment I think that the colors in this set are aligned in the same order as they were for Midnight Hunt! Blue has amazing card draw and creatures, Black has the best removal by far, green has a ton of solid creatures at common and works well in Gruul or Selesnya. A lot of vampires in this set have ways to abuse Blood tokens, which will end up making them way more valuable than a single loot. If you are that archetype though, this seems like a solid way to accumulate Blood tokens while still having access to a colored mana source when you really need it. This grade assumes that you’re Rakdos Vampires, because otherwise this is unplayable in my opinion. ( Mimic, Fifty Feet of Rope, Curse of Shaken Faith) 0.0: Unplayable in every possible situation. The talented Matsuno was integral to this game’s great system design. Unfortunately it’s quality of a level uncommon. ( You See a Guard Approach, Bramble Armor, Compelled Duel) Any epic SRPG journey should include the memorable and enjoyable Tactics Ogre: Knight of the Lodis. 0.5: Very unhappy to main deck this, but maybe it has fringe sideboard applications.( Secret Door, Mystic Skull, Funeral Longboat) ( Secrets of the Key, Spiked Pit Trap, Village Rites) ( Contact Other Plane, Vampire Spawn, Timberland Guide) 2.0: Mediocre filler that normally is your 20-23rd card(s).( Mourning Patrol, Steadfast Paladin, Goblin Morningstar) 2.5: Decent playable and the bar I hope nearly every card in my deck to reach.( Usher of the Fallen, Search Party Captain, Dragon Turtle) 3.0: Good playable that I’m basically never cutting.

(above) An interview with Masao-san, Akihiko’s interview is also in the book. Makes me want to play the game after seeing all these beautiful character designs. Don’t let the publishers hear this, but I was expecting a price tag of about 30-50% more for so splendid a collection of art work (231 pages), bound in a nice hard cover volume, no less. The book is a veritable treasure trove of fantasy art work, cover to cover, by long time Square Enix character designer/illustrator Akihiko Yoshida and Tsubasa Masao. I’m less than familiar with Square Enix’s Tactics Ogre roleplaying game, myself not much of a gamer these days but I couldn’t pass up such gorgeous art work –
